It Finally Happened: I Got Wrecked by an Angry Driver

It finally happened. I got intentionally wrecked in a daily race on Le Mans Ultimate.

A Porsche 911 RSR-19 GTE collides with a Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, forcing it off track as dust flies.

First Time Back on Daily Races in a While

Every day on the Le Mans Ultimate subreddit, you’ll find clips of racers getting intentionally taken out by angry drivers. Maybe it was a small incident that got blown out of proportion, or maybe someone wrecks the wrong car entirely. Other times, some folks just can’t handle losing a position — especially when it’s their own fault. That last one? Yeah… that’s exactly what happened to me.

I usually stick to community races in LMU — they’re cleaner, more competitive, and generally more fun. But with an LMGT3 championship coming up, I figured I’d get some seat time in the GT cars through daily races. Quick, low-stakes, decent practice. Or so I thought.

Leading the Race… Until I Wasn’t

I jumped into a Daily Race at Portimão in the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo. Qualified 3rd. Great start! Dropped to 5th early on, but clawed my way back to 3rd in some close racing. Then the race leader spun out and rejoined behind me in 4th. I managed to pass for the lead and started pulling away. I was leading! That never happens. (Seriously, I’ve only ever won one LMU race before.)

But apparently, pulling away cleanly from someone who spun is a sin. That Porsche driver must’ve snapped. He caught up, and instead of racing clean, he lined up and deliberately wrecked me.

Two race cars crash into the barriers with dust flying, as a loose wheel soars through the air.

Dust, car, tyre - and tempers - all flying.

Not Mad, Just... Okay, Mad

Look, I get it. We all make mistakes. It sucks to throw away a lead. But wrecking someone because they took advantage of your mistake? That’s not racing. That’s just throwing a tantrum.

This was my first time getting intentionally taken out — and I’m not even mad, just disappointed. Okay… maybe a little mad.

Have you been wrecked on purpose too? Drop a comment below and let’s rant together. Misery loves company.
