Podium at Le Mans just hits different

Update 5 Brings Big Changes

Update 5 for Le Mans Ultimate finally dropped last week, bringing some serious goodies: two new cars (the Lexus RC F LMGT3 and Lamborghini Huracán LMGT3 Evo2), Lusail International Circuit, and—big one—driver swaps! Endurance racing is heating up!

Custom Liveries!

But let’s get to the real highlight: custom liveries are here!
I’ve been itching for this update, and I wasted no time. So far, I’ve created my first livery for the Ferrari 296 LMGT3, with a McLaren one still in the works. The process has been tricky—masking is a pain, wireframes are a puzzle—but wow, it’s addictive.
And now… drumroll… I finally have a Sim Racing Rookie–branded car!

Custom number plates aren’t available yet, so every custom liveried car features the 397 number plate. But it didn’t stop me from adding “32” to the livery

From Papaya-Dream-Machine to Italian Stalion

You might be wondering why I started with the Ferrari instead of my papaya-dream-machine McLaren. Well, it’s with a heavy heart that I’ve parked the McLaren for the rest of the Driven Minds LMGT3 Challenge. The results just haven’t been there. Sure, I’ve made mistakes, and luck hasn’t been on my side, but the recent game update gave us all one free car swap—and I knew I had to make a move. So I went red.

2.4 Hours of Le Mans

After finishing the livery on Saturday, I put it (and the car) to the test on Sunday during the 2.4 Hours of Le Mans.

Qualifying didn’t exactly go to plan—I messed up my second flying lap and had to settle for P12. But I wasn’t worried. It’s a long race, and anything can happen.

And what a race! The Ferrari felt incredible around Circuit de la Sarthe—so much better than the McLaren did in round 1 of the LMGT3 Challenge. The livery looked awesome, I felt confident, fast, and totally in the zone as I climbed the ranks through day, into night, and back to day again.

P3 at the finish!

A podium at Le Mans. That just hits different. After the rough luck I’ve had lately, this one meant a lot. And doing it in the new SRR colours? Even better.
